Rigi in winter

Skiing

The Gratalp ski lift is directly behind the hotel. Ideal for families and learning to ski. Two mountain railway stations along Rigi Staffel offer three more ski lifts. There is also a ski carousel for children. And, best of all, there are no waiting times on Mount Rigi, even during the peak period.

Mount Rigi also has a snow sports school. Further information>

All equipment can be rented from the Rigi sports kiosk. Further information>

Cross-country skiing

Mount Rigi is home to the most scenic cross-country route in the northern hemisphere. The 7 kilometre long, traditionally prepared route runs from Rigi Kaltbad to Rigi Scheidegg and follows the mostly flat former Scheidegg railway line.

Sledging paradise

Mount Rigi is a sledging paradise. There are four different pistes, the longest of which is over 3 km long. The descent is different on every slope, which means there are hours of fun to be had by young and old alike.

Snowshoe walking

What could be more wonderful than walking through an untouched snowy landscape? Far away from the hustle and bustle of the ski slopes, surrounded by nature, taking in the beautiful panorama of the Alpine foothills and Lake Lucerne. The signposted snowshoe hiking trails are ideal for beginners. Or perhaps you'd prefer to discover Mount Rigi with a guided tour.

Winter hiking

Mount Rigi isn't just a hiking paradise in summer. The routes are also prepared in winter, which means you can experience the stunning scenery year-round.

Village shop

The hotel also houses the village shop, which sells everyday essentials and regional products as well as souvenirs and gifts. It also has a post office. The shop is open daily (including Sundays).
